It’s August! Is the heat getting to you?
Read on for some tips on staying cool and radiant.

Overnight Oats Recipe

These oats are delicious on warm summer mornings. Your kids might even like them!

Oats

½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats (not instant)
⅔ cup milk of your choice
⅛ cup dried fruit (raisins, chopped figs, chopped dates, etc)
2 tbsp chia seeds
A good pinch salt
1 tsp cinnamon
Honey or other sweetener to taste (optional)

Garnish

2 tbsp seeds or nuts (pumpkin seeds, chopped walnuts, toasted sesame seeds, or something else!)

Half of an apple and/or banana, diced. Experimenting with other fruit such as berries is fun too.

Add oats, cinnamon, milk, dried fruit, and salt to a mason or other suitable jar, leaving room at top. Thoroughly mix these ingredients, and then add sweetener to taste if using. Pour in chia seeds, and add more milk to cover. Do not mix in chia seeds. Refrigerate one hour or up to overnight.

In the morning, add the garnishes listed above, and serve!

Summer Skincare Tips

Late summer is a challenging time for skin. It is usually the hottest part of the year. Extra heat ramps up inflammation, and causes our skin to increase sebum and sweat production.

Along with that, summer travel and busyness can take a mental toll—when we should be relaxing!

Here are three easy tips to help with the summer heat—

1. Lighten Up Your Routine

Use a soft, cool cloth and our gentle Foaming Facewash as an easy evening skincare routine.

2. Use Lighter Moisturizers

Summer skin produces more oil and sweat, so go easy on the moisturizers! Check out our featherlight Botanical Day Cream.

3. Stay In The Shade

Wear a sun hat and breezy long sleeve shirts instead of using sunscreen. Most sunscreens are only effective for about two hours, and may have other long-lasting effects on our bodies and skin.
